A year’s repression finds release in one man’s joyful song. Multiply it by several thousand and you have the perfect expression of Cape Town in January.The artist concentrates on the features in this picture: the colourful costume, in charcoal outline, is left to the imagination. Half drawing, half painting, this new approach has begun to be noticed in Tretchikoff’s work today.
